James Morris to Discuss Drinking-Related Harm at NHS SMPA Conference 2019
NHS SMPA is excited to add Director of Alcohol Academy, James Morris, to our speaker lineup on 9th September, 2019.
James is a PhD student at London South Bank University researching the effect of problem framing (i.e beliefs about alcohol problems) on service users’ self-appraisal of their drinking. He is also Director of the Alcohol Academy, a social enterprise set-up to promote skills and learning development in the alcohol treatment field, and is also a keen brief intervention skills trainer.
James is the editor of Alcohol Policy UK (www.alcoholpolicy.net), a blog to keep the alcohol treatment field updated with related news and activity. He has been involved in a number of alcohol policy and advisory groups for the Department of Health and other bodies such as the World Health Organisation (WHO). He is also a regular speaker for alcohol events and media features and is a committee member for a charity focusing on the development of ideas in alcohol treatment and interventions (www.ndsag.org).
We look forward to having James join us for our conference in September. To learn more about the conference or to book your tickets, check out our conference page.
